12 Days of Holiday Break by Leah Osterling
Three weeks ago, Daniel Hand had its longest break of the 2024-2025 school year. There were many different activities and celebrations to participate in on the Holiday Break, so let’s see what some Daniel Hand students did.
Ava Bencivengo, a sophomore, said that she was most excited for the snow fall over break. She said that she celebrates Christmas and New Year’s and she started preparing early.
“I’ve put up my Christmas tree and the decorations,” Bencivengo said.
She said that one of her holiday traditions is to bake cookies for her family.
Annie Tompkins, a sophomore, said her favorite thing to do over break was spend time with her family. She said she celebrated Christmas and New Year’s.
“I made Christmas cookies, watched holiday movies, listened to Christmas music, and bought gifts for friends and family (to prepare for the holiday season,” Tompkins said.
She said the best gift she has ever received on Christmas was a new phone and the worst, socks.
Caroline Keating, a sophomore, said the thing that excites her the most about holiday break is giving gifts to people. She said that she celebrates Christmas and New Year’s.
She said that her favorite holiday movie to watch is Christmas Vacation.
“Going to Christmas mass, opening presents in the morning, and then dinner with family are my family traditions,” Keating said.
