Fall Sports Wrap Up by Lincoln Miller
Hand played Guilford in the Thanksgiving rivalry game. The Tigers dominated the Grizzlies beating them 51-28. Hand scored in many different ways, with a fumble recovery, interception and a punt return all in the first half. With this win, the Tigers clinched the SCC title and the top seed in the Class M CIAC State Playoff.
According to CT Insider, “We feel good about the outcome. We’re outright SCC champs, [it was] our 10th win of the season, 22 straight and 45th win over Guilford,” – Hand coach, said. The Tigers ended up losing in the Class M semifinals against St. Joseph. The Cadets ended up winning the state championship.
DHHS Boys Hockey Preview
After a disappointing season last year, the Tigers ice hockey team looks to be on an upward trajectory this season with the addition of a new head coach, Rich Minnix, and goalie, Will Diana. They won the first two scrimmages against West Haven 5-3 and North Branford, 6-1.
