New! Give And Take Library By: Maddox Talmadge

The DHHS Book Club is setting up a mini Give-And-Take library and locating it in front of the Eco-Club garden.

As a place with free and exchangeable books, this exciting new mini-library will benefit the school community.

The members decided to give the DHHS community a mini-library for an easy and accessible way to express gratitude for people who left a book before. Creating a sense of community, this tradition will allow DHHS to share and borrow exciting reads.

Co-presidents Caroline Keating and Catie Schneider kindly agreed to answer some questions about the donation.

Question: How did the idea of a mini Give-And-Take library come about?

Caroline: “We love seeing how much our club members love to read and talk about books! We wanted to expand our group of readers in the community and thought a Give-And-Take library would be perfect for our school!”

Question: What are your favorite parts of this project, and how will this benefit Daniel Hand?

Catie: “My favorite part of this project is by far the excitement the Book Club has for it. We are all thrilled, as it presents a great opportunity to leave a lasting impact at Hand and be part of the school for years to come. This will benefit Hand and Hand students, especially since it provides a way to discover interesting books for teenagers and read them for free, while also donating a book you love for others to enjoy. We want the library to be a way for people to get books and thoroughly enjoy them without the pressure of having to return them to a library. We are so excited and hope it will be used and enjoyed by Hand!”

This mini Give-And-Take library aims to foster reading habits, connect people, and encourage generosity. The DHBC encourages the student body of Daniel Hand to participate by donating books and taking one in return. Please spread the word!
