Daniel Hand boys varsity lacrosse beat Foran by a score of 13-6 in the first game of the season. After that first game they went on a six game losing streak. Recently, they have picked up a few wins. (MaxPreps) The lacrosse team lost several key pieces from last year to graduation, that were All-SCC picks in 2023, Sam Sisk, Will Kleine, Alex Cushing and Ryan Xeller.

Here is a small interview with Head Coach Orlando:

Who are your leaders this season?

Our team is led by our senior captains Jack Shay (Midfield) and Dillon Diprospero (Defense) and fellow seniors Jack Orlando (Goalie), Connor Balletto (Long Stick Middie), Chase Docker (Midfield) and Juniors PJ O'Hanlon (Attack) and Tyler Naracci (Midfield).

Most of your games have been decided by a couple goals, what is your focus in closing out games for the rest of this season?

We have 4 very close losses in our first 7 games. The team is working hard in practice and has started to figure out how to close games.

We just put together 2 wins over Amity and Conard.

Update: The Tigers have been on a roll recently; they are set to face Brookfield in the CIAC Class M Semifinals Wednesday, June 5th at 6:30 at Fairfield Warde. Previously they had defeated Ellington by a score of 18-2 and Masuk by a score of 14-4 in the state tournament.
